Attention all Human Resources Managers out of retail. HireDirect is working with a growing client to a hire a new Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing personnel and daily operations of the human resources department. If you thrive in a dynamic work environment that requires the ability to balance multiple responsibilities, multi- unit, CA Labor Laws, supporting a large population of 1900 employees, HRIS systems knowledge, oversight of payroll department, and employee investigation experience, than this may be the role for you.
Key responsibilities:
– Analyze reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs
– Oversee exit interviews and procedures
– Establish recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws
– Supervise all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team
– Build up the organization’s human resources department by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices
– Assist employees such that they follow all policies and procedures
– Study compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and administer employee benefits
– Head up human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
– Institute management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
– Monitor and implement applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the organization at hearings
– Attend interdepartmental meetings with other managers
– Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records

Requirements:
– Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
– Familiarity with HR software and working knowledge of MS Office
– 5+ years of supervisory experience within human resources
– Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
– PHR/SPHR or other relevant certifications are desired
– Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution
– Ability to view issues objectively
– An understanding of the key principles of employment law and EEOC regulations
– Unimpeachable ethics, integrity, and standards
– Extensive knowledge of HR policies, benefits administration, compensation and wage structure
– Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
– 10+ years in human resources
– Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field
