5+ years managing, building, and developing security engineering and support teams.

5+ years’ experience managing large-scale security systems or services

10+ years’ experience across information and cyber security domains, including hands-on security engineering experience

Job summary

HireDirect is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to join the Vulnerability Management and Remediation (VMR) team as our Discovery Operations Lead for the Eastern US. The VMR team is responsible for the discovery, assessment, triage, and remediation of vulnerabilities across Amazon. We are data-driven, set big goals, and are always challenging ourselves and each other to identify better solutions and take on new challenges. Our team offers the unique opportunity to work with leading industry security experts and engage across our client Amazon teams and leadership.

Key job responsibilities

As a Security Engineering Manager for the VMR Discovery team, you will lead a regional team of security and systems engineers responsible for health and effectiveness of our vulnerability discovery services.

Key responsibilities include:

Build, manage, and develop a team of security and system engineers.

Hands-on management of Amazon’s global vulnerability discovery infrastructure including operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and automation.

Support customers and partner teams with vulnerability discovery services.

Continuously improve vulnerability discovery operations and support services.

Lead and collaborate on initiatives to improve vulnerability discovery across Amazon.

Periodic on-call responsibilities.

Candidates for this role must be in US Eastern Time and within commuting distance of the Amazon InfoSec offices in New York City, NY. In-office expectations for this position is a minimum of once a quarter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in vulnerability management.
Experience building automated tools in Java and Python.
Experience with AWS services.
Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
