HireDirect is actively submitting resumes to their client! This position will have day-to-day responsibility for SEC and other financial reporting functions as well as responsibility in coordinating external audit or quarterly review efforts and researching and interpreting technical GAAP/SEC rules and standards. Responsibility will also include involvement in certain financial accounting activities associated with the month-end close process. Client is open to HYBRID or MORE REMOTE candidates for this role! Day-to-Day duties include:
- Day-to-day “hands-on” responsibility over the preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K (press release), including preparing or reviewing all related disclosure schedules and XBRL tagging/submission in compliance with SEC and FASB rules
- Manage the financial reporting calendar while coordinating activities with Corporate Accounting, FP& A, Legal and Investor Relations teams
- Regularly interact and provide information supporting the Company’s outside auditors for the annual audit and quarterly reviews
- Provide IR-related financial disclosures (e.g., press release, scripts, slides) and review consistency with SEC filings
- Perform technical accounting / SEC research, interpret, and apply standards and prepare analyses and accounting memorandums as needed
- Maintain internal control documentation for financial reporting and play a key role in the Company’s SOX compliance effort
- Record certain accounting entries, including, but not limited to, stock-based compensation expense and lease accounting
- Review variance analyses and reconciliation of financial statement data
- Coordinate with required internal and external stakeholders in support of any debt or equity related filing efforts
- Assist in filing of required governmental and other financial reports
- Assist with annual proxy statement
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business
- 7+ years of progressive financial reporting/accounting experience including SEC/financial reporting capacity roles. Ideal candidate will have worked in public accounting including SEC client responsibility
- Oil and gas industry experience is preferred
- Licensed CPA a plus
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills and working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Hyperion/HFM/FCCS; experience with Merrill Bridge SEC reporting platform a plus
