The Director/Manager of QA and Compliance will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate all aspects of the Quality programs to ensure the highest levels of Quality controls built in from the beginning of all product development, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization. This is a critical role in a fast growing, competitive and exciting environment. Assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing materials and products. Assures compliance and certifications are current and managed, including regulatory requirements for labeling, hazardous materials, dangerous goods (DG), international customs, and FDA Leads a team of technicians and compliance experts in managing everyday quality excellence, performance improvement, and risk minimization. Up to ten direct reports, and dotted line responsibility for activities overseas. Direct reports are a mix of salary and hourly employees. Coordinates quality inspections, documentation, and certifications with overseas vendors (China) Develops and implements a comprehensive Quality System commensurate with the growing needs of the company Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers. Develops raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements, conferring, and negotiating with suppliers, and devising testing methods and procedures. Implements in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures. Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures. Institutes rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures. Creates product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures. Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements.

  • Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborates with management and senior staff across production departments and roles to draft acceptable quality standards.
  • Collaborates with other members of management to develop new product inspections while considering engineering designs, manufacturing process’ and required training methods.

Certifications a plus Working knowledge of quality requirements importing from China Five to 10 years’ experience as QA director Knowledge of safety Requirements.
